Will perform network engineering, hardware configuration (routers, switches, firewalls), performance monitoring, cloud connectivity (AWS/Azure), routing protocol management, and cybersecurity compliance including Zero Trust architectures. Requires 10+ years of enterprise network experience, active Secret clearance, and DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification plus Cisco certification (CCNA/CCNP/CCDP).

The Network Specialist provides operational support for DoD Defense Health Agency LAN/WAN infrastructure at Naval Medical Center San Diego, including daily troubleshooting of core and edge switches, resolving network and routing protocol issues across all OSI layers, and supporting routing, switching, firewall, and cabling equipment. The role requires expertise in TCP/IP, routing protocols, firewall/VPN technologies, and hands-on maintenance of LAN/WAN systems. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline plus 3 years of experience (or equivalent vocational certification plus 8 years), an active Secret clearance or higher, and Security+ CE certification with current CCNA or equivalent.
