Staff Data Engineer

Summary

Staff Data Engineer role owning the architecture and evolution of Overstory's data platform that processes satellite imagery, model inferences, and utility network data at scale. You'll design and maintain production pipelines, lead system design work across data infrastructure, drive a shift toward service-oriented architecture, and establish observability and data quality frameworks. You'll mentor engineers, set standards for pipeline design and data quality, and collaborate closely with data, ML, and product teams. Requires 10+ years designing production-grade data systems, deep hands-on experience with Dagster (or Airflow/Prefect), strong Python and Google Cloud skills, and proven experience building and operating data pipelines at scale.
