Summary

Sr. Software Engineer responsible for designing, building, and operating AppFolio's authorization platform that controls access across all products. You'll optimize permission-check performance at scale, build libraries and tooling for other engineering teams to integrate access control safely, lead migrations of legacy permissions logic, and mentor engineers while owning quality end-to-end through testing, feature flags, and observability. Requires 7+ years building and operating production systems, fluency with AI coding agents, and depth in Ruby on Rails, Go, or React with TypeScript.
