Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Lakehouse Infra)

Summary

Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and operating Affirm's lakehouse data infrastructure at scale. You will own quarterly goals, lead engineers through ambiguous problems, and ensure reliability and high availability of critical batch and analytics systems. The role requires 4+ years of backend systems experience with Python or Kotlin, expertise with distributed technologies (AWS, Kubernetes, Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Terraform), and strong system design skills. You'll collaborate across product, analytics, and engineering teams while fostering code quality standards and developing talent on your team.
