Senior Network Engineer/Architect (Network Communications Analyst IV)
Summary
Senior network architect and engineer responsible for designing, evolving, and modernizing SDSU's enterprise wired, wireless, core, WAN, data center, and research networks. Lead complex infrastructure projects from architectural design through deployment and operational transition, serve as technical escalation resource for advanced routing, switching, and wireless issues, and mentor network engineering staff. Required skills include large-scale enterprise network architecture, advanced routing/switching (BGP, OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, segmentation, high availability), hands-on packet/protocol analysis, RF engineering, and vendor platform expertise (Aruba, Palo Alto Networks, Infoblox, ClearPass). Develop architecture standards, technical documentation, and evaluate emerging networking technologies.
