Research Cybersecurity Analyst

Summary

This role supports research teams in meeting cybersecurity and compliance obligations by reviewing research proposals and contracts to identify security requirements, conducting risk and gap assessments, and recommending practical safeguards. The analyst will coordinate security controls across cloud and on-premises research environments, assess architectures and configurations, and develop compliance documentation such as SSPs and POA&Ms. Success requires the ability to interpret complex regulatory and contractual requirements—including NIST frameworks, CMMC, and data-handling restrictions—and translate them into actionable security strategies for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
