As a Sr. Staff Software Engineer on Teradata's Database Query Optimization team, you will lead the design, development, and testing of advanced features for the Teradata SQL Engine, a leading cloud-based query optimization platform. You will own all phases of the software development lifecycle, research and establish technical direction for complex feature development, and lead groups of engineers during feature implementation. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining the LLVM-based query parsing engine, conducting competitive analysis of database management systems, and driving technical planning for large-scale initiatives across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. You must have 10+ years of industry experience with deep expertise in C/C++, strong proficiency in Java, Python, R, and SQL, and demonstrated ability to design large-scale distributed systems and debug complex software in parallel processing environments.
