As a Sr. Staff Software Engineer on Teradata's Database Query Optimization team, you will lead the design, development, and testing of advanced features for the Teradata SQL Engine—a cloud-based query optimization platform supporting massively parallel processing (MPP). You will own all phases of the agile development lifecycle, establish technical direction for complex feature development, conduct competitive analysis of database management systems, and lead engineering teams during feature delivery. Required expertise includes 10+ years of experience (or equivalent with advanced degree), deep C/C++ proficiency with strong Java, Python, R, and SQL skills, and demonstrated ability to design large-scale, elastic, cloud database services and distributed systems. You will design, implement, and maintain the LLVM-based query parsing engine while partnering with feature managers on technical planning for large-scale initiatives.
