This Embedded Software Engineer role at Leidos involves designing and developing high-performance embedded software for custom System-on-Chip (SoC) hardware in electronic warfare applications. You will write low-level C/C++ code for multi-core systems (DSP, ARM, RISC-V), perform hardware-software co-design and validation, and build software development kits for end users. The position requires 4+ years of embedded systems experience, deep understanding of hardware architectures, and proficiency in reading datasheets, test-driven development, and real-time operating systems.

As a Product Software Engineer, you will develop and integrate software for Qualcomm products spanning smartphones, computing devices, automotive infotainment, and IoT systems. You will own software integration tasks including component integration, build automation, version control management, and baseline releases. You will perform sanity testing on-target and in simulation environments, debug failures using tools like JTAG and ADB, automate test scenarios, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on design and code reviews.

Design, implement, and maintain secure DevSecOps automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines across hybrid infrastructure, cloud, and application platforms. Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep, PowerShell, and Python to automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, and vulnerability remediation across Windows, Linux, VMware, and Azure environments. Integrate security controls into deployment pipelines including vulnerability scanning, secrets detection, code scanning, and policy enforcement aligned with FFIEC, NCUA, CIS, and NIST standards. Partner across Infrastructure, Security, and Application Development teams to advance DevSecOps practices, container engineering, and secure cloud governance.

Develop bare-metal firmware and low-level device drivers for Qualcomm reference platforms, focusing on hardware bring-up, validation, and early platform enablement. Work directly with hardware and silicon teams to debug SoC peripherals, implement test firmware, and resolve hardware/software integration issues using lab instrumentation and debug tools. Design and maintain register-level software for a wide range of integrated peripherals including memory, displays, cameras, RF transceivers, and communication interfaces. Requires deep expertise in embedded systems, processor architectures, and hardware protocols with strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
